  18. I grew up in the small Eastern UP swamps. Obviously, the Eastern UP swamps are nothing like the Louisiana bayous. Up in the Eastern UP, we have a strong Métis population. A Métis is kind of like a Cajun. Those of us with French like swamps. My dad and I are part French. We get our French from my paternal grandfather. All of what I said explains why I adore Louisiana Swamp music.
