Romantic Academia is an academic aesthetic specializing in love, romance literature, and the Romantic era.
Although visually and philosophically similar to Light Academia, it includes more visuals associated with romantic love and lust, the latter of which is generally excluded from Light Academia.
Philosophically, both aesthetics value education, curiosity, compassion, and optimism, but Romantic Academia differs from Light Academia in its focus on individualism, appreciation of nature, and aesthetic expression of intense and sometimes negative emotions.
Like both Dark and Light Academia, Romantic Academia relies heavily on visuals, philosophy, and literature with origins in Western Europe.

  9. When I was a child my mum would take me to concerts where music like this was played. It put a love in me for classical music. Mum was trying to capture her early life of beating hunger and grinding poverty. Now I’m old and mum has long since passed away, but as I listen to this I say “Thank you mum for giving me the best life I could have had, so sit with me while we listen to classical music and tears can run down our cheeks. Thanks mum RIP.”
